You create a redirect rule on a Domino server to redirect a call to open a form in a Notes database, to an external web site. For example: /database.nsf/myform?OpenForm to http://www.my_new_site.dot.com However, you find the redirection appends ?OpenForm to the address of the new site.
You find that when the redirection rule runs, ?OpenForm is appended to the address of the external site, and the new URL appears as http://www.my_new_site.dot.com/?OpenForm
Domino is working as designed. Redirection rule processing is designed to strip off arguments before redirection, and then append them to the end of the target URL. Enhancement request SPR CJMS8D8RMT was opened to request that this behavior not apply when redirecting to non-Domino sites.
Resolving the problem
The issue may be worked around by using a redirection rule to run an agent, e.g. redirecting to /database.nsf/myAgent?OpenAgent
The agent can then make a call to open the desired URL. An example of a LotusScript agent that would do this is
