Portrait BIRT Report output instead of Landscape

Question & Answer

Question

Why am I seeing the incorrect report output orientation upon printing in PDF?

Answer

When printing BIRT reports in Maximo application v7.5, using PDF format, for example, you may experience incorrect report output. Out-of-the-box(OOTB) BIRT reports were created to be printed with Landscape orientation. If you experience the opposite end result, portrait instead of landscape orientation, you need to check to see whether the correct/supported Adobe Reader version was installed on the workstation.

Please refer to the supported versions (Product Matrix) here:

Note: If you are in Maximo V7.1.1.5, or v7.5, for example, and you use Adobe ReaderX (which is unsupported for this Maximo version), you will see the undesired results. Once you install the supported, and verified, version of Adobe Reader (V8 or V9), the output should go back to normal.

If you experience further issues with the report output in PDF, please open a ticket with Maximo Support for further investigation.
