Applications that use REST Gateway to access the object server with defined plug-ins run into an exception: ClassNotFoundException

Technote (troubleshooting)

Problem(Abstract)

A java.lang.ClassNotFoundException occurs for plug-in classes when an application is using REST Gateway.

Symptom

A java.lang.ClassNotFoundException occurs when an application is using REST Gateway to access object grid that has Object Grid plug-in or Map plug-in defined in Object Grid XML. The Java class specified in the classname attribute of the plug-in definition is reported as not found.

Diagnosing the problem

If a java.lang.ClassNotFoundException occurs when an application is using REST Gateway to access object grid, check the reported classname attribute. Check the object grid XML of the object grid the application is trying to access, and check the classname attribute of the defined plugins and see if the "not found" class is one of them.

Resolving the problem

Add the plug-in class specified in the classname attribute into the classpath of the application or shared library that is accessing the object grid.
