Impact 6.1 unable to connect to Jabber Server
Symptom
Could not establish connnection the host talk.google.com port 80 com.echomine.net.HandshakeFailedException: XMPP Exception occurred during handshake
Cause
Newer Versions of the jabber service are incompatible with current Impact 6.1 code

Could not establish connnection the host talk.google.com port 80 com.echomine.net.HandshakeFailedException: XMPP Exception occurred during handshake
at
com.echomine.xmpp.impl.XMPPConnectionHandler.handshake(XMPPConnectionHan dler.java:169)
at
com.echomine.net.HandshakeableSocketConnector.establishingConnection(Han dshakeableSocketConnect)
The problem is that Impact does not know how to handle newer releases of jabber servers. We've seen this handshake error in Impact with other products that use the newer jabber service.
Resolving the problem
There is no current work around for this issue. Please submit an enhancement request:
