Question

Can you install multiple versions of IBM Rational Publishing Engine on the same machine?

Cause

Installing multiple versions of Rational Publishing Engine on the same machine may show undesirable results.

Answer

No. Installing multiple versions of Rational Publishing Engine on the same machine is not recommended as it can result in undesired behaviour.

The recommended way to install Rational Publishing Engine is to:

  1. Uninstall the previous version of Rational Publishing Engine and install the newest version.

  2. Use the IBM Installation Manager upgrade wizard.

Note: Both of the above mentioned options do not expect earlier versions of Rational Publishing Engine to be installed on the machine.
