MTTRAPD probe service missing in Windows

Technote (FAQ)

Question

Why is the MTTRAPD service not available?

Cause

It is likely that you have not registered the probe as a Windows service.

Answer

To run the MTTRAPD probe as a Windows service, you have to register it first.

The method of registration:
1. To run the probe on the same host as the ObjectServer, use the following
command to register it as a service:
%OMNIHOME%\probes\win32\nco_p_mttrapd -install -depend NCOObjectServer

2. To run the probe on a different host to the ObjectServer, use the following
command to register it as a service:
%OMNIHOME%\probes\win32\nco_p_mttrapd -install

3. Start the probe service using the Microsoft Services Management Console.
