Can Cognos Express be used in a distributed environment with IBM Cognos BI or other Cognos products?


Cognos Express (CX) is not supported in any kind of distributed environment.  It is licensed as a stand-alone, self-contained Business Analytics appliance. Using CX in a distributed deployment architecture of any kind is expressly forbidden with enterprise versions of BI, TM1, Executive Viewer or with multiple instances of CX.

There should be only one instance of CX on any given machine. 

If more interoperability is required between the above mentioned products, the customer should move to the full enterprise versions of the individual products rather than use CX.
