Text Analytics Tooling: AQL Doc Hover and Refactoring features do not work if an AQL file contained characters from double byte character set (DBCS)

Technote (troubleshooting)

Problem(Abstract)

If an AQL file contains double byte characters (for example: characters from languages such as Japanese, Korean, Chinese), then the AQL Doc comment will not be shown when the mouse is hovered over a reference to an AQL element such as view, module, dictionary, function or a table. Also, refactoring of an AQL element will not work as expected.

Cause

The presence of double byte characters in an AQL file messes up the offsets maintained by the AQL editor, resulting in failure to refactor an AQL element (or) retrieve the AQL doc comments of the selected element.

Resolving the problem

There is no workaround to this problem. The fix to this problem will be available in the next release.
