Problem(Abstract)

There are two minor inaccuracies in the Configuring LDAP or Active Directory topic that is part of the section about secure communications in the Administration Guide for Netcool/Impact 5.1.1.

Cause

Steps 2e and 2f are misleading. You only need to select Centrally Managed if you want to encrypt all LDAP communications.

The navigation path described in step 3 is incorrect.


Resolving the problem

The text for both steps needs to be amended as follows:

Step 2e and 2f

Incorrect
e. If all LDAP communications should be encrypted, select Require SSL communications. If users authenticate to a Microsoft Active Directory Server, select this to enable password changes and creating users from the administrative console.
f. Select Centrally managed.

Correct
