Problem(Abstract)
You open the help/topics in IBM SPSS Statistics v20 or later. It opens your default webbrowser but you get the message : Page cannot be displayed.
Cause
The help function uses the computer name and a random port to open de help topics in the default webbrowser.
If your computer name contains invalid characters the connection cannot be made and the help topics will not be displayed with a message "Page cannot be displayed".
Herewith the windows message when you enter invalid characters for your computer name :
"The computer name "geneviève_pc" contains one or more non-standard characters. Standard characters include letters (A-Z, a-z), digits (0-9), and hyphens (-). Using a non-standard name will
prevent other usres from finding your computer on the network, unless your network is using the Microsoft DNS server."

Resolving the problem
to resolve the issue, please change the name of your computer by using standard characters via control panel / System / computer name / change.
A reboot of your system is needed after this change.
