Question
Can you confirm which fields can or cannot be changed during a version upgrade of an agent built with Agent Builder without having the new version being incompatible with the previous version?
Answer
When making modifications to an agent built with Agent Builder (before committing), the following fields can or cannot be changed. Fields marked "N" will change the agent in comparison to the original version. Fields marked "Y" can be changed and will not have an adverse effect in the Tivoli Enterprise Portal.
- Service Name** = Y/N? Y
- Product Code = Y/N? N
- Version = Y/N? Y
- Patch Level = Y/N? Y
- Company Identifier = Y/N? N
- Agent Identifier = Y/N? N
- Display Name = Y/N? Y
- Minimum ITM version = Y/N? Y
- Copyright = Y/N? Y
**Changing Service Name has no adverse effect on the agent in Tivoli Enterprise Portal, but you may notice that it maintains the original service name. To correct this, you can uninstall and reinstall the agent.
