KCPOC1048W message when starting OMEGAMON in CICS

Technote (FAQ)

Question

Why is this message displayed at OMEGAMON initialization in CICS?
KCPOC1048W OCOMEG UNABLE TO INSTALL ANCHOR TABLE 000C, PROCESSING CONTINUES

Answer

APAR OA41081 (V420 PTF UA67609/V510 PTF UA67610) introduced OMEGAMON support for CICS/TS 5.1.

The CICS/TS 5.1 SVC constructs the Anchor Table, so it should be there for a 5.1 region and the DFHCSVC once installed will, by default, be used by any supported CICS version in the LPAR and will construct an Anchor Table at initialization.
If you are not using the CICS/TS 5.1 DFHCSVC, the Anchor Table will not be constructed and the return code will be 000C. This is expected and can be ignored.

Message explanation
KCPOC1048W UNABLE TO INSTALL ANCHOR TABLE ZZZZ, PROCESSING CONTINUES

Explanation:

OMEGAMON XE for CICS on z/OS was unable to install an Anchor Table in the CICS address space.

System action:

The Anchor Table was not installed; this has no impact on product functionality, and processing continues.

User response:

When ZZZZ is 03xx, then the xx is the GETMAIN return code; for other values contact IBM Software Support and provide a dump of the CICS region.
