Removing the Tivoli Storage Manager server library inventory.

Technote (troubleshooting)

Problem(Abstract)

Tivoli Storage Manager server library inventory is not removed even after deleting the library path definition.

Resolving the problem

Tivoli Storage Manager server library inventory is attached to the library definition. The library definition needs to be deleted from the server to remove existing library inventory. The 'delete library' command command can be used to accomplish this.

If the library inventory needs to be re-generated, you have to run the following commands in sequence as the 'audit library' command will not accomplish this.

  1. Checkin the scratch volumes
    checkin libvol {library_name} search=yes checklabel=barcode status=scratch
  2. Checkin the private volumes
    checkin libvol {library_name} search=yes checklabel=barcode status=private

Review the command syntax help for additional options/values if needed via 'help {command}'.
