Question

What are the differences between SUA 1.x and SUA 2.x?

Answer

SUA 1.x and SUA 2.x are completely different applications and can be installed and reside on the same server.

Software Usage Analysis (SUA) version 2.x:

Database: tem_analytics

Services: Tivoli Endpoint Manager Analytics

Task Mgr Process: TEMAnalytics.exe

The Catalog Editor for SUA 2.x is the IBM product Software Knowledge Base Toolkit (SwKBT)

Path: (Default path) C:\Program Files (x86)\BigFix Enterprise\TEMA

Login URL: (Example) http://localhost:8888/session/new

SUA 2.x Ports used:

Service: Port:
Tivoli Endpoint Manager Analytics Local System 80 is the default, user can set the port to anything

SwKBT:

SwKBT installs on port 12344, currently there is not way to change this port

SQL Server defaults to port 1433, however user's can change this.

To see want ports the processes are using, run the CMD line

netstat -nao

Additional notes:

SUA 2.x cannot be installed on the same server that you has Tivoli Endpoint Manager Analytics (TEMA) Security Compliance Analytics (SCA) installed, as both applications use the same database and Service name. SUA 2.x will fail, as will TEMA SCA if you attempt to install on the SUA 2.x installed server.

Services: BigFixDSSApache

BigFix DSS Backend 0 - 5

The catalog editor is SUA 1.x application
