Problem(Abstract)

A configuration of using FullDiscovery stitcher with an option to periodically run a nightly discovery. Will changes to SnmpStackSecurityInfo.cfg be picked up?

Symptom

changes to snmp passwords can be made and picked up by the automated ActOnTimedTrigger discovery

Environment

review the $PRECISION_HOME/disco/stitchers/FullDiscovery.stch

Diagnosing the problem

Sometimes passwords are changed between discoveries, and loaded directly to the configuration file.

Resolving the problem

This line

DiscoReadConfig();
in the above stitcher means that the SnmpStackSecurityInfo.cfg file will be used when a discovery is automatically started with the ActOnTimedTrigger (for example nightly or weekly). Stored correct passwords in ncim are used, but new passwords will also be moved to ncim.

The changes can still be made in the GUI.

In versions previous to 3.9, it was necessary to 'HUP' ncp_dh_snmp to push the passwords to ncim
