Recreation of Oracle Text indexes fails with ORA-00955 error.

Problem(Abstract)

After refreshing the Atlas database in a development environment with production data, we then executed the scripts to recreate the Oracle Text indexes but the create script @create_ctxsys_indexes.sql fails with the following error.



CREATE INDEX IDX_RECORDTYPE_TEXT ON RECORDTYPE(RECORDTYPE)

ERROR at line 1:

ORA-00955: name is already used by an existing object

Cause

The Create script @create_ctxsys_indexes.sql in Atlas 6.0.1.3 is incorrect and does not contain a statement to drop the IDX_RECORDTYPE_TEXT index..

Atlas 6.0.1.3

Diagnosing the problem

Capture the SQLPLUS when running the index creation script @create_ctxsys_indexes.sql
output to identify the cause of the problem.

Resolving the problem

Before running @create_ctxsys_indexes.sql, execute the following command from SQLPLUS as PSSAPL user.

DROP INDEX IDX_RECORDTYPE_TEXT;
