Windows OS agent install fails
Windows OS agent install gives the following error message in the Abort log.
SEVERE: ERROR - Install aborted.
The -1 and it may be that some Microsoft DLLS are either missing or corrupt on the system.
Windows 2008 R1 SP2 64 Bit
Diagnosing the problem
Download Depends.exe (www.dependencywalker.com) from Microsoft. It will check dependencies and indicate why the dll will not load. Then find those DLLS on a working system (or contact Microsoft) and copy them to the same location on the failing system.
The DLLS that 6.2.3 FP1 requires are as follows:
MFC42U.dll - ver 6.6.8064.0
MFC90U.dll - ver 9.0.30729.4148
MSVCR90.dll - ver 9.0.21022.8
MSVCRT.dll - Ver 7.0.3790.3959
Resolving the problem
Using Depends.exe found the missing/corrupted dll (MSVCR90.dll - ver 9.0.21022.8).
Installed both 32-bit and 64-bit (since this was a 64-bit machine) for this dll and this resolved the issue. On 64-bit machines both 32-bit and 64-bit DLLS from Microsoft must be installed to cover all the scenarios used by ITM.
