Question & Answer
Question
When comparing baselines in the Rational Synergy GUI, the list of Change Request differences does not match the results of the query "is_unique_cr_of_baseline('baseline1', 'baseline2')"
Cause
The baseline compare function in the GUI as well as the CLI ccm baseline -compare command considers different relationships than query function does.
Answer
In the Rational Synergy GUI, the baseline compare function obtains its results from looking at the tasks associated to the baseline (even dirty tasks) and from those, their associated CRs. The same results are obtained from the CLI using the command "ccm baseline -compare -change_requests baseline1 baseline2".
The is_unique_cr_of_baseline query function obtains the CRs for the objects which are members of the baseline and not for all the tasks in the baseline.
Use the baseline compare function because it reports on the CRs associated with the tasks in the baseline, which illustrates which changes have been implemented in the current release.
