Problem
When installing WebSphere Portal v8, the installation may fail immediately with a CRIMA1154E error code and the message 'The silent installation process does not support installing
packages that are contained on multiple media discs.'
Symptom
In the IBM Installation Manager logs, the following error is seen:

CRIMA1154E ERROR: Error installing.
ERROR: The silent installation process does not support installing
packages that are contained on multiple media discs.
=====================
Cause
This is caused by the repositories not being set correctly in the response file. When installing WebSphere Portal v8, you should point the repository to the following location:
Setup/eimage/repository.config
OR specify each component individually:
WAS/repository.config
Portal/repository.config
<Offering>/repository.config
where <Offering> is Enable, Extend, WCM or WSE. If you are installing WebSphere Portal Server, you will not have an <Offering> directory.
Resolving the problem
To resolve the problem, ensure that the repositories are set correctly in the response file. It is recommended that you just simply use:
Setup/eimage/repository.config
