You can uninstall InfoSphere Data Architect, Version 8.1, even when InfoSphere Blueprint Director is shell-shared with it
If InfoSphere Blueprint Director is shell-shared with InfoSphere Data Architect, Version 8.1, you can still uninstall InfoSphere Data Architect. As a result, InfoSphere Blueprint Director will not run.
No warning message is displayed that InfoSphere Blueprint Director requires components of InfoSphere Data Architect. The user can continue to uninstall InfoSphere Data Architect.
Resolving the problem
If you do need to uninstall InfoSphere Data Architect, follow these steps:
- In IBM Installation Manager, do these steps:
- Uninstall InfoSphere Blueprint Director from the package that InfoSphere Data Architect 8.1 was installed in.
- Uninstall InfoSphere Data Architect.
- Reinstall InfoSphere Blueprint Director as a stand-alone client. In the InfoSphere Blueprint Director Launchpad, select the Install as standalone application and the Install for all users check boxes.
Note: After InfoSphere Blueprint Director is installed as a stand-alone client, you can access blueprints that were created when InfoSphere Blueprint Director was shell-shared with InfoSphere Data Architect.
