Always use the fully qualified hostname when naming the Rational DOORS Web Access server

Technote (FAQ)

Question

When Collaborative Lifecycle Management (CLM) administrators are adding IBM Rational DOORS Web Access during their OSLC configuration, the CLM documentation instructs them to use the fully qualified hostname when naming the Rational DOORS Web Access server. If you have not used the fully qualified hostname when setting up the DOORS Web Access server, OSLC integration will fail.

Cause

Both parts of the integration must use the same name for the Rational DOORS Web Access server. The documentation for CLM stipulates that users must use the fully qualified hostname when naming the Rational DOORS Web Access server. The documentation for Rational DOORS Web Access does not stipulate that users must use the fully qualified hostname when naming the Rational DOORS Web Access server. This mismatch is causing OSLC integrations to fail.

Answer

When you are setting up the Rational DOORS Web Access server, you must name it using the fully qualified hostname, for example dwaserver.ibm.com.
