Why does the group by clause on a choice attribute does not fetch the information in IBM Rational Focal Point?

The choice value for an attribute is not set properly
Answer
You need to validate if the choice attribute value in element is set properly in Rational Focal Point. You can create a filter to identify if you have any element where the choice attribute is not set from the listed choice items. Once you identify the element where in the choice attribute is not set correctly, you can change the choice value appropriately and fetch the required information by applying the group by clause.
