Script compilation error when adding a Specific Property Verification Point for a given control property more than once in a recording session

Problem(Abstract)

When inserting a Specific Property Verification Point for a control property more than once during a recording session, it is observed that the script generated contains a compilation error using IBM Rational Functional Tester.

Symptom

Compilation error in the script generated through recording.


Cause

The variable name for the Specific Property Verification Point generated on the control property is same for all instances. Duplicate variable names are not allowed in Java and VB.

Resolving the problem

Apply one of the solutions below to resolve the issue.

  • Manually change the variable name in the script.

  • Modify the Verification Point name in the wizard while creating the second and subsequent Specific Property Verification Points on the same control property.
