LMT versions and numbering scheme

1. ILMT server

For versions prior to 7.5, in order to confirm ILMT server version, login to Integrated Solutions Console (ISC) and go to 'Welcome' screen. There navigate to 'Suite Name' section and click on 'IBM License Metric Tool' link. Check the 'Product version:' number displayed in the 'Product Information' section.

For the version 7.5, login to Tivoli Integrated Portal go to 'Welcome' screen. Check the 'Product version:' number displayed in the 'Product Information' section.

Alternatively you may start ILMT CLI, by default located in:

<path_to_IBM>/IBM/LMT/cli/lmtcli.sh (Linux/Unix)
<path_to_IBM>\IBM\LMT\cli\lmtcli.bat (Windows)

ILMT CLI will open. Run 'login' command:

lmt>login

and provide user name and password of a user specified in Integrated Solutions Console as a member of one or more groups among the following: softwareassetmanager, administrator, inventoryadministrator.

Finally execute:

lmt>info

command. Check the 'Server version: IBM License Metric Tool' number.

2. ILMT agent

Go to ILMT agent directory and run the following command:

tlmagent.exe -v (Windows)
tlmagent -v (Linux/Unix)

On i5 OS issue the following command in QSH:

/qsys.lib/qitlm.lib/qitlmagent.pgm -v

Alternatively, you can run command

GO LICPGM

then type '10' and press enter. Browse for product ID '1IBMTLM' denoting ILMT Agent and press F11 key. It will display 'Installed Release' column in the following format:
VxRyMz

where x, y, z denote first three numbers of ILMT Agent version.

4. TLMA database

When applying ILMT fixes that require TLMA database modifications you may verify the current level of TLMA database by issuing the following query:

select * from adm.control

Check values of the 'DATABASE_VERSION' and 'DATABASE_SCHEMA_VERSION' entries.
Important: for ILMT 7.2.2.12 (ILMT 7.2.2 FP1 IF2 level) these table entries return 7.2.2.1 number.

7.2.0.1 – ILMT 7.2.0 with Fix Pack 1
7.2.0.11 – ILMT 7.2.0 with Fix Pack 1 and Interim Fix 1

7.2.1 – base release number
7.2.1.1 – ILMT 7.2.1 with Fix Pack 1
7.2.1.11 – IILMT 7.2.1 with Fix Pack 1 and Interim Fix 1
7.2.1.12 – ILMT 7.2.1 with Fix Pack 1 and Interim Fix 2
7.2.1.2 – ILMT 7.2.1 with Fix Pack 2

7.2.2 – base release number
7.2.2.01 – ILMT 7.2.2. with Interim Fix 1

Please note that Interim Fix packages only contain correction for issues found on top of the last major release (i.e. base version, Fix Pack release).
