Issue with opening external URLs in the Rational DOORS internal help in the client

Problem(Abstract)

When you open the help from within the IBM Rational DOORS client and click an external URL, an error message is displayed: This program cannot display the webpage

Diagnosing the problem

This has been reported with Rational DOORS 9.5 on all operating systems.

Resolving the problem

If you can access the Internet, you can open the Rational DOORS 9.5 Information Center at:

http://pic.dhe.ibm.com/infocenter/doorshlp/v9r5/index.jsp.

If you cannot access the internet, use an external browser, for example Firefox or Internet Explorer.

  1. Open the help.
  2. In the help window, click File > Preferences.
  3. In the Open help contents drop-down menu, select In an external browser.
  4. Click Web Browser.
  5. Click Use external web browser, and then select the web browser from the list.
  6. Click OK, and the information center is automatically displayed in the selected web browser.
