Desire offline for TSAAM but "starting" for TSAMP

Technote (FAQ)

Question

Resource references at the TSAAM level show a desired state of "Offline", while the resources at the TSAMP level are in a state of "starting" ... no offline request results at the TSAMP level.

Answer

Resources that have an observed state of "Starting" will not get stop requests. This behavior is currently considered by design and is documented in the TSAAM Administrator's and User's Guide (pg 38 for v3.2.1 and pg41 for v3.2.2) as follows :

"The referenced resource is in a transitional state"
The end-to-end automation engine does not generate requests if the referenced resource is in a transitional state. Transitional states are, for example, the states Starting or Stopping.
