Along with the APAR fixes listed below, this fix pack will be used to enable the support of FireFox 10 ESR (Extended Support Release). Depending on your set up you will need to do the following:
  • If you are running ITNCM integrated with ITNM you will need to apply the ITNM/TCR patches for FireFox 10 ESR support as well as this ITNCM fix pack.
  • If you are running ITNCM stand alone (i.e. not integrated with ITNCM) and you use TCR Report Studio to create your own reports and are using FireFox 10 ESR then you will need to apply a fix pack supplied by TCR to upgrade Reports to allow you to continue to do so. Note: You can avoid patching TCR in this scenario if you use TCR Report Studio with a browser other than FireFox.

Prerequisites and co-requisites

Before downloading ITNCM Version 6.3 Fix Pack 4, perform the following steps:

1. Backup the ITNCM database(consult with your database administrator)
2. Ensure that your system has at least 200 MB available in the ITNCM install directory and at least 400 MB available in the directory to which you will extract the Fix Pack zip file.
3. Review the Flashes and open Authorized Problem Analysis Reports (APARs) on the ITNCM product support Web site
4. Read the entire contents of this Fix Pack 4 Readme, including any workarounds documented in the "Known problems and workarounds" section.
5. If you require Reporting to be upgraded then Reporting must be enabled using the setPlatform.sh script before applying the FixPack.
6. Installing the fix pack will overwrite AutoDiscovery xml files in install_dir/autodiscovery/xml as well as ad.properties and commands.properties in the install_dir/autodiscovery directory. If you have made any changes to those files you may want to back them up and merge in the values you had changed once the fix pack has been applied. Please note that any changes you raised as an APAR may already be incorporated into the fix pack and will not need merged.

This fix pack is a cumulative patch that also contains all fixes in ITNCM 6.3 Fix Pack 1, 2 and 3. ITNCM 6.3 Fix Pack 4 can only be applied to an ITNCM 6.3.0.0, 6.3.0.1, 6.3.0.2 and 6.3.0.3 system.

Known problems and workarounds.

None

Installation information:
Prior to installation

Before installing ITNCM Version 6.3 Fix Pack 4, perform the following steps:

1. Stop ITNCM on all ITNCM instances by running <install_dir>/bin/itncm.sh stop

Installing

Follow these steps to install the ITNCM Version 6.3 Fix Pack 4:

1. Create a fix pack directory on all ITNCM instances  e.g <install_dir>/FP4
2. Download the fix pack from fix central and store in the directory created above.
3. cd <install_dir>/FP4
4. Extract 6.3.0-TIV-ITNCM-FP004.zip.
5. Execute sh ./install.sh
6. Review the license terms and conditions.
7. Follow the on-screen prompts. (If your deployment has more than one instance per server then make sure to enter the correct install directory)
8. Execute the following script to upgrade the ITNCM database schema (The script only needs to be run once on one of your ITNCM instances): sh <install_dir>/bin/utils/db/upgradeDBSchema.sh
Post Install Steps

After installing ITNCM Version 6.3 Fix Pack 4, perform these steps:

  • (Perform this step only if your ITNCM system is integrated with ITNM.) Download the appropriate Tivoli Integrated Portal (TIP) installer (ITNCM_TIP_‹os›.bin) from the 6.3.0.4 Fix Pack and follow these steps to upgrade TIP in line with ITNCM 6.3.0.4. Make sure to also configure the Alerts menu in TIP following these steps. You will also need to download the integration tarball file (ncm_itnm_tarball_4.0.1.19.tar.gz) from the fix pack and upgrade your existing tarball following the steps outlined in the Tarball_Upgrade.html file included in this fix pack.
  • If you use the ITNCM API then download the ITNCMClient installer specific to your system (Windows, AIX, Linux or Solaris) and install following these steps
  • If you are installing on AIX and you have reporting installed please edit install_dir/reporting/ITNCMReports/itncm_env.sh and uncomment LIBPATH= and export LIBPATH and comment out LD_LIBRARY_PATH and export LD_LIBRARY_PATH before starting ITNCM .
  • If you are using a DB2 database and are upgrading from ITNCM 6.3.0.0 or 6.3.0.1 then you will need to upgrade the ibm_tivoli-ncm_db2_udf.jar in your database to add regular expression support. The procedure requires that you remove the existing jar file from the DB and then apply the new one.
1. Steps to remove the existing jar file
2. Steps to apply the new jar file and add regular expression support
3. When the jar file has been updated on your database then run the following SQL commands:

CREATE FUNCTION REGEXP_LIKE(SOURCE VARCHAR(3000), REGEX VARCHAR(512), MODE VARCHAR(3)) RETURNS INTEGER FENCED NOT DETERMINISTIC NO SQL LANGUAGE JAVA PARAMETER STYLE JAVA EXTERNAL NAME 'ncm_db2_udf:com.ibm.tivoli.ncm.database.db2.NcmCustomFunctions.regexpLike' NO EXTERNAL ACTION;

CREATE FUNCTION REGEXP_LIKE(CLOB, REGEX VARCHAR(512), MODE VARCHAR(3)) RETURNS INTEGER FENCED NOT DETERMINISTIC NO SQL LANGUAGE JAVA PARAMETER STYLE JAVA EXTERNAL NAME 'ncm_db2_udf:com.ibm.tivoli.ncm.database.db2.NcmCustomFunctions.regexpLikeClob' NO EXTERNAL ACTION;

CREATE FUNCTION DECODE_FUNCTION(VARCHAR(400)) RETURNS VARCHAR(400) FENCED NOT DETERMINISTIC NO SQL LANGUAGE JAVA PARAMETER STYLE JAVA EXTERNAL NAME 'ncm_db2_udf:com.ibm.tivoli.ncm.database.db2.NcmCustomFunctions.decodeBase64' NO EXTERNAL ACTION;
  • Start Server - <install_dir>/bin/itncm.sh start

Uninstalling Fix Pack if necessary

Steps for rolling back the fix pack are as follows:

1. Stop Server - <install_dir>/bin/itncm.sh stop

2. cd <install_dir>/FP4

3. execute sh ./install.sh and follow the on-screen prompts to rollback.

4. Restore to database backup taken in pre-requisites steps (Consult with your Database Administrator).

5. Start Server - <install_dir>/bin/itncm.sh start
