Unable to login from client. Username and password prompt just dings and goes back to prompt. Launching AuditLog.exe from GENSRVNT\Bin produces error: 0x800706BA The RPC server is unavailable.
Unable to launch client from server. DCOM Configuration is setup correctly however error message 0x800706BA The RPC server is unavailable is received when launching AuditLog.exe from GENSRVNT\Bin directory.
Resolving the problem
a. Double check that DCOM Configuration is setup correctly.
b. If it is then a Firewall is blocking connection from the client to the Server. Check firewall rules between systems, including local firewalls on Operating System. Add firewall rules to allow DCOM communications and RPC communications through firewall for client systems to connect to server.
