Abstract

Tivoli Decision Support for z/OS announces additional DB2 statistics for the DB2 component.

Tivoli Decision Support for z/OS now supports DB2 workfile statistics, DB2 RID list statistics, as well as some additional statistic fields for the DB2 EDM pool. These new DB2 metrics are collected into the DB2_DATABASE_T table.

Below are some details of the new fields that have been added:

Workfile statistics

- Maximum total storage used in workfile db, in KB.
- Current total storage used in workfile db, in KB.
- Maximum allowable storage usage limit per agent, in KB.
- Number of times the maximum allowable storage usage limit was exceeded.
- Current 4KB table space storage used, in KB.
- Current 32KB table space storage used, in KB.
- How many times a 32KB page TS was used when a 4KB page TS was preferable.
- How many times a 4KB page TS was used when a 32KB page TS was preferable.

RID list statistics

- The number of times RID list processing terminated because the number of RID entries was greater than the RDS limit.
- The number of times RID list processing terminated because the number of RID entries was greater than the DM limit.
- Highest number of RID blocks in use at any time.
- Number of RID blocks currently in use.
- Number of times RID list processing exhausted.
- Number of times the maximum RID pool storage was exceeded.

EDM Pool statistics (in addition to those already collected by TDSz)

- Number of pages in DBD pool.
- Number of free pages in DBD free chain.
- Number of fails due to DBD pool full.
- Number of pages in STMT pool.
- Number of free pages in STMT free chain.
- Number of fails due to STMT pool full.

APAR PM75784 is available for TDSz 1.8.0 and TDSz 1.8.1.
