Fix available for Sametime Community Server 8.5.2 IFR1 StPlaces and StChatlogging crash during service stop

Technote (troubleshooting)

Problem

Stopping ST Chatlogging service causes service to crash, or Domino server to crash.

Cause

Since Sametime 8.5.2 we have some issues with threads and Notes API. In particular when the Notes Main Session is being started in one thread and is terminated by another thread, this causes a crash in the Notes API.

Resolving the problem

You might detect StChatlogging service termination during stop service. In some cases it can also cause Domino server termination.

A fix is available on IBM Fix Central. This interim fix is recommended for Community Server 8.5.2 IFR1.
