Airgap process fails with "Error: class FileStartingBytesNotRecognized"

Technote (FAQ)

Question

By running the BESAirgap.exe, it fails with the "Error: class
FileStartingBytesNotRecognized" error message while generating AirgapResponse
file.

Answer

This issue can be due to intermittent gather issues from one or more sync servers not properly handling out bad data (likely not correctly compressed).

Usually this issue is quickly resolved and the gather can be accomplished later in the day or in the next few days.
