IBM Rational Publishing Engine (RPE) version 22.214.171.124 and older are shipped with an IBM Java that is based on the Oracle Java. Oracle has released a June 2012 critical patch updates (CPU) which contain security vulnerability fixes and the IBM Java may be affected.

RPE includes the IBM JRE and is affected by one of the security vulnerabilities addressed in the critical patch updates provided by Oracle. The CVSS for this vulnerability is 5.0. Note that the attack vector for the vulnerability requires direct access to the desktop application. RPE version 1.2 includes an update to the IBM JRE that includes a patch for this vulnerability.
