During the SNA install, what environments need to be configured with the 'Administration Tool'?

Technote (FAQ)

Question

Reading through the 'SNA_InstallGuide.pdf' section 'Administration tool'. You must configure your environment to enable communication between them. What does 'them' mean exactly? It seems that I must enable Social Network Analysis for IBM SPSS Modeler Server and Social Network Analysis for IBM SPSS Modeler cluster nodes. What if I'm not using clusters?

Answer

Social Network Analysis for IBM® SPSS® Modeler consists of the following three primary components:
1) Social Network Analysis for IBM SPSS Modeler nodes within the IBM® SPSS® Modeler environment.
2) Social Network Analysis for IBM® SPSS® Modeler Server, which adds processing of the node specifications to IBM® SPSS® Modeler Server.
3) Optional Social Network Analysis for IBM SPSS Modeler cluster nodes to distribute the social network processing over multiple machines.
The key here is the 3rd item is optional.

You must configure your environment to enable communication between "Social Network Analysis for IBM® SPSS® Modeler Server" and "Social Network Analysis for IBM SPSS Modeler nodes within the IBM® SPSS® Modeler non-clustered environment or (optional #3 above) clustered nodes environment".

Specifically, if you are administering with the tool against a cluster node (one of the nodes in the cluster if a cluster exists.) or Social Network Analysis IBM SPSS Modeler Server.
