Unable to create new RequisitePro requirements from ClearQuest

Technote (troubleshooting)

Problem(Abstract)

When you create a Rational® RequisitePro® requirement in the Associate Requirements dialog of a Rational® ClearQuest® change request, such as Defect or EnhancementRequest, using the Rational ClearQuest for Windows client, an error message appears and the operation does not complete.

Symptom

Select the Change Request editor Requirements tab then RequisitePro to display the Associate Requirements dialog. Clicking the Create button results in a blank window or an error message:

ERROR! CRMUD0089E The entity's Named Hook "CQI_Select_Req" failed, the error message is: Unknown exception.

Environment

This issue appears on Microsoft® Windows® Server® 2008 R2, 32 bit and 64 bit versions, and Microsoft® Windows® 8.

Resolving the problem

To avoid this problem, use Rational ClearQuest Client instead or create new requirements directly from RequisitePro.
