Mixed case passwords

Technote (FAQ)

Question

Can we implement mixed case passwords incrementally by updating our OMEGAMON's to use FOLD=N now and then implementing RACF rules in a few weeks to allow mixed case passwords?

Answer

FOLD=Y tells us to convert your password to upper case prior to sending it along to RACF. When you change it to FOLD=N, we immediately begin sending your password to RACF in whatever case you entered it. RACF has to be enabled at that point to accept mixed case passwords or your logon will fail. That means that you need to coordinate our sending mixed case passwords to RACF's accepting them.
