When you publish from IBM Cognos Controller 8.5.1 FP1 to IBM Cognos 8 Controller Financial Analytics Publisher, by default the Origin Company dimension will be populated for every fact.
When the ursbol (Origin Company for Intercompany transactions) and ktypkonc fields are empty in the Cognos Controller 8.5.1 FP1 database, by default you will not be able to set the fact data of the Origin Company dimension to @None.
If you need to keep the behaviour prior to Cognos Controller 8.5.1FP1, where you can set the Origin Company to be @None, where the fields ursbol and ktypkonc are empty, you will no longer be able to do this.
When you publish to IBM Cognos 8 Controller Financial Analytics Publisher, all fact data is assigned Origin Company values which means that Origin Company will never be set with the value @None.
Diagnosing the problem
The IBM Cognos 8 Controller Financial Analytics Publisher cube will not have fact data when the Origin Company dimension has the value of @None.
Resolving the problem
When you specify the server preference MOVE_ORIGIN_COMP with the value N, the fact data will be assigned with the value @None for the Origin Company dimension when the ursbol (Origin Company for Intercompany transactions) and ktypkonc fields are empty in the IBM Cognos Controller 8.5.1 FP1 database.
When you do not define the Server Preference MOVE_ORIGIN_COMP or set its value to Y, Cognos Controller 8.5.1 FP1 will not populate fact data for the dimension Origin Company when the fact data has the value @None.
- In Cognos Contoller click Maintain > Configuration/General > Server Preferences.
- In the Variable Name column, enter the parameter MOVE_ORIGIN_COMP .
- In the Variable Value, type N.
- Click Save.
