You cannot connect to the IBM Business Process Manager or IBM Business Monitor V8.0.1 service repository during an update or a custom installation

Problem(Abstract)

When you are doing an update or a custom installation of an IBM Business Process Manager or IBM Business Monitor V8.0.1 product, you cannot connect to the service repository to install the updates.

Symptom

You are attempting to do an update or a custom installation of the V8.0.1 products. When you attempt to connect to the live repository to find additional fixes, none of the fixes in the live repository are found.


Cause

The service offering repositories in the Version 8.0.1 products are not set correctly.

Resolving the problem

To resolve this issue, you must add the service repository URLs to your IBM Installation Manager preferences. You can add the URLs either before or after installing the Version 8.0.1 products. If you want to install the latest fix pack and any mandatory interim fixes during the product installation, install Installation Manager and add the repository URLs before you start installing one of the IBM Business Process Manager or IBM Business Monitor V8.0.1 products. If you are completing an update, you can add the service repositories before attempting to complete the update.

To add the service repository URLs, complete the following steps:

  1. Start IBM Installation Manager.

  2. Select File > Preferences.

  3. Click Add Repository.

  4. Add the appropriate repository URL for the product you are installing:
    • IBM Business Process Manager Express: http://public.dhe.ibm.com/software/websphere/bpm/repositories/server/bpmexp/800/updates/ 
    • IBM Business Process Manager Standard: http://public.dhe.ibm.com/software/websphere/bpm/repositories/server/bpmstd/800/updates/
    • IBM Business Process Manager Advanced: http://public.dhe.ibm.com/software/websphere/bpm/repositories/server/bpmadv/800/updates/ 
    • IBM Business Process Manager Advanced Process Server and WebSphere Test Environment: http://public.dhe.ibm.com/software/websphere/bpm/repositories/server/bpmadvps/800/updates/
    • IBM Business Monitor: http://public.dhe.ibm.com/software/websphere/bpm/repositories/server/wbm/800/updates/
  5. Click OK.

  6. Click OK to exit Preferences.

  7. If you are performing an installation then exit Installation Manager. If you are doing an update then click Update to begin.
