How to separate LDAPSYNC/VMMSYNC information into its own logs

Question

Can I create LDAPSYNC and VMMSYNC specific logs?

Answer

1. From the Go To link select - System Configuration/Platform Configuration/Logging

2. From select actions choose 'Manage Appenders' and click New Row
a. Call your appender LDAP
b. Set the appender class to psdi.util.logging.MXFileAppender
c. Set the file name to ldap.log

3. Choose 'Set Logging Root Folder'
a. Set the logging root folder to a path on your application server.

4. Filter for the Root Logger 'SQL'
a. Set the 'Log Level' to DEBUG
b. Use the lookup on 'Appenders' and select the LDAP appender we created in step 1

5. Filter for the Root Logger 'CronTask'
a. In the 'Logger' Table that opens below expand VMMSYNC
b. Set the 'Log Level' to DEBUG
c. Use the lookup on 'Appenders' and select the LDAP appender we created in step 1

6. Save the changes
7. From the select actions choose apply settings.

Now let the cron task run and send the logs it creates in the folder you specified on step 2.

Replace LDAPSYNC with VMMSYNC for VMMSYNC specific information.
