Question

WEBi: How do I perform logical-ORing of multiple search criteria that are in a customized-URL?

Answer

Note: In this example, the predefined Content Manager item type of "NOINDEX" is used.http://hostname:port/wccommonservices/launch.jsp?&wc_repositoryId=1&wc_template=NOINDEX&wc_action=search&wc_criteria=["any", ["USER_ID","Equal","john"],["SOURCE","Equal","solar"]]

( That is, the format of wc_criteria that we used is : wc_criteria=["any",["property1", "operator" , "search_criteria"],["property2", "operator" , "search_criteria"]]
)

The existence of the  "any", qualifier results in a logical-OR being performed. The resulting, generated XPATH query, when the "any", qualifier is used is:

/NOINDEX[((@USER_ID = "john") OR (@SOURCE = "solar"))]

In contrast, the non-existence of a qualifier, or the existence of the "all", qualifier, as in

wc_criteria=["all",["property1", "operator" , "search_criteria"],["property2", "operator" , "search_criteria"]]
or
wc_criteria=[["property1", "operator" , "search_criteria"],["property2", "operator" , "search_criteria"]]

results in a logical-AND being performed. The resulting, generated XPATH query, when the "all", qualifier is used (or if no qualifier is used) is:

/NOINDEX[((@USER_ID = "john") AND (@SOURCE = "solar"))]
