Large payloads cause the WebSphere DataPower XC10 Appliance REST gateway to fail

Technote (troubleshooting)

Problem(Abstract)

When you use the POST operation with the REST gateway to insert or update data that exceeds 150MB, then the REST gateway for the appliance fails.

Symptom

After you use the POST operation to insert or update data that exceeds 150MB, the appliance processes begin to recycle. However, the appliance remains available until the recycle process has completed.

Diagnosing the problem

When you use the cURL command-line syntax to post data that exceeds 150MB, this error can occur.

Resolving the problem

As a temporary workaround, avoid using the POST operation with the REST gateway to insert or update large data.
