Maximum index size supported in Net Search Extender (NSE)

Technote (troubleshooting)

Problem(Abstract)

What is the maximum size of NSE index?

Resolving the problem

The maximum recommended text index size in NSE can be up to 200GB. If the index grows beyond 200GB, it is expected that any or all of the following behaviors might be seen:

1) Index updates fail

2) Reorg of the index fails

3) Searches return inconsistent result sets

4) Performance of all searches and administration commands might suffer

In order to avoid the above situation, the maximum text index size should be limited to 200GB.
