Problem(Abstract)
Backups of VMware Virtual Machines (VMs) that are imported into a Windows 2008 Hyper-V system fail with FBSS7548E errors in the FastBack Server clog.
Symptom
FastBack Server clog contains the following message for the affected client:
FBSS7548E FastBack Client <NAME1> is reporting a disk with signature <DISKSIG>. This disk signature already exists on protected server <NAME2>. Please consult the FastBack User Guide.
Cause
The Windows 2008 Hyper-V import process changed the Master Boot Record (MBR) on the affected VMs.
Resolving the problem
Contact Microsoft to determine whether the Master Boot Record (MBR) was altered during the import process.
