Broken characters in output file of FTP Adapter

Technote (troubleshooting)

Problem(Abstract)

Messages in Korean appear as broken characters in the output file when running an outbound process in FTP Adapter.

Symptom

The encoding properties of the outbound FTP Adapter is configured as 'UTF-8'. When delivering messages in Korean to the Adapter, the content in Korean is changed to ??? in the output file.

Resolving the problem

This issue can be resolved by adding two JVM properties - 'file.encoding' and 'client.encoding.override', and by setting both values to 'UTF-8'.
