Question
What are the differences in the behavior of the IBM Rational Functional Tester for Google Chrome™ when installed from Chrome Web Store and when installed from Rational Functional Tester 8.3iFix001?
Answer
The following differences in behavior are seen when IBM Rational Functional Tester for Google Chrome™ is installed from the Chrome Web Store and when it is installed from Rational Functional Tester 8.3iFix001:
- When installed from the Chrome Web Store, though the Google Chrome browser is displayed as enabled in the Enable Environments dialog box (the Enabler), you must enable the JRE associated with the browser manually. When the Google Chrome browser is enabled directly through the Enabler, Rational Functional Tester automatically enables the JRE associated with the browser.
- If IBM Rational Functional Tester for Google Chrome™ has been enabled offline through the Enabler, you must disable it through the IDE before installing it from the Chrome Web Store. If not, two entries for IBM Rational Functional Tester for Google Chrome are seen on the Extensions page.
When installed from Rational Functional Tester 8.3, the version of IBM Rational Functional Tester for Google Chrome is displayed as 8.3. When installed from the Chrome Web Store, the displayed version begins at 1.1.
