Installing Worklight Studio from IBM Installation Manager on Windows XP

Technote (troubleshooting)

Problem(Abstract)

When IBM Worklight studio is installed on Microsoft Windows XP using IBM Installation Manager, it uses -Xmx960m as a default setting. On some Windows XP instances, especially 32-bit systems without enough memory, this setting might cause a failure to launch Eclipse and result in an error message.

Resolving the problem

The solution is to edit the eclipse.ini, worklight.cmd, and worklight.sh file and reduce the setting to a lower value. For example: -Xmx512m
