Importing CSV file to a new RPT datapool results in “Equivalence Class is missing” error

Problem(Abstract)

Attempts to import a CSV file into a datapool from IBM Rational Performance Tester (RPT) 8.2.1.5 results in the error: “Equivalence Class is missing”.

Symptom

The full error message is as follows:

Equivalence Class is missing


Cause

You have both the following check boxes checked while importing CSV file:

  • First row of the CSV file contains the variable names and optional suggested types
  • First column of the CSV file contains the equivalence class names and optional record numbers

Resolving the problem

To resolve the error un-check the following check boxes while importing CSV file:

  • First row of the CSV file contains the variable names and optional suggested types
  • First column of the CSV file contains the equivalence class names and optional record numbers

The variable names and equivalence class names are only expected string parameter.
