Problem

Datastore connection is lost when you are trying to create a new subscription from AS/400 to Oracle.
The Datastore Connection gets lost with the message:
The connection to datastore <datastore name> has been terminated. Any outstanding changes for the datastore or its subscriptions have been lost. Check if the datastore is still running and reconnect to the datastore in order to reestablish this connection. Monitor agent connection(<hostname or IP adddress>: <port>: ) lost.

Symptom

Error in Job Log:

Message . . . . : An error occurred during target database user name encryption. The encrypted length is 0
Recovery. . . . : Please try restarting replication
.

Cause

Username and/or password exceeds maximum limit

Resolving The Problem

The maximum limit for the target database user name and password is 14 characters each.
Shorten both to a maximum value of 14 each and try creating the subscription again.
