Problem(Abstract)

Attempts to install IBM Rational Test Workbench on 64-bits Linux result in error "cannot open shared object file ... ".

Symptom

Which error message occurs depends on which library files are missing.

EXAMPLES

cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory

bad ELF interpreter: No such file or directory

JVM terminated

Cause

IBM Installation Manager is a 32-bit application. 32-Bit library files are absent in the 64-bit host operating system.

Resolving the problem

Install the missing 32-bit libraries before running Installation Manager.
