BMXAA4186E - No Records Were Found That Match the Specified Query

Troubleshooting

Problem

Changes made to Maximo 7503 Long Description table may prevent data from being returned if Multi Language is being used.

Symptom

After upgrading to 7503 from a previous version of Maximo 75 there may be an issue with data being returned when searching by Long Description.

Some customers have added the Long Description to the Advanced Search and use that as a means of searching for records in various applications. If Multi Languages are installed and you are searching for a record that has a different coded langcode as the one you are using one of two things may happen. You may have some data not display based on the langcode not matching that of the logged in user or you may receive an error such as this:

BMXAA4186E - No records were found that match the specified query. Check that the value you are searching for was entered correctly

Cause

This is not a bug as of 7503 issue 11-16269 has been corrected by design. This fix causes Maximo to further filter your results returned based on the Langcode associated to the entered Long Description. Now that this filter is being used you will not see data that has a different langcode than the one your current user has.
