ITCAM Agent for WebSphere DataPower Appliance v6.3 discards some SNMP Traps sent by the DataPower appliances

Problem(Abstract)

The agent discards some types of SNMP traps sent by DataPower appliances.

Some SNMP traps are not displayed in the DataPower Events workspace on TEP. The agent log contains the following message:

No event class matches the received trap: generic=6 specific=2 oid=1.3.6.1.4.1.14685.3.3.2

Symptom

Some SNMP traps are not displayed in the DataPower Events workspace on TEP.


Cause

The agent discards SNMP traps of oid 1.3.6.1.4.1.14685.3.3.2.0.2.

Resolving the problem

1. Stop the agent.

2. Locate the kbn.ref file in the agent installation folder.

3. Back up the kbn.ref file.

4. On Windows, copy the attached kbn_Win.ref file to the directory where the kbn.ref file is located. Remove kbn.ref, then rename kbn_Win.ref to kbn.ref.

5. On UNIX or Linux, copy the attached kbn_Linux_UNIX.ref file to the directory where the kbn.ref file is located. Remove kbn.ref, then rename kbn_Linux_UNIX.ref to kbn.ref.
kbn_Linux_UNIX.refkbn_Linux_UNIX.ref

6. Start the agent.
